Frank P. Femino, MDDr. Femino specializes in adult reconstruction surgery and joint replacement. Chief of Orthopedics at Clara Maass Medical Center, Dr. Femino has performed more than 3,500 joint replacement surgeries, primarily of the hip and knee. He has had much success in performing surgeries that are considered “high risk” as well as those rarely attempted or compromised by previous surgeries. Dr. Femino has been recognized for his expertise in performing minimally invasive procedures, resulting in quicker recovery and less pain. His state-of-the-art surgical techniques include minimally invasive hip replacement, knee replacement and same day partial knee replacement. A graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Dr. Femino received a mechanical engineering degree with highest honors, as well as numerous awards for academic excellence. He received his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he went on to complete residency in orthopedic surgery. He completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery and joint replacement at the Rothman Institute/University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Dr. Femino is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Medical Society of New Jersey, Orthopaedic Surgeons of New Jersey, the Essex County Medical Society and the Practitioners Club. |
